Define the part and the purchasing decision

Start with the complete part number rather than a broad description such as “DDR4 chip” or “SPI Flash.” Record the required package, capacity and target board or application. Identify which requirements are essential and which alternatives you are willing to review.

Keep component identity, supply condition and application suitability separate. Original-marked used chips and refurbished or re-marked chips are used supply; a marking or a photograph alone is not a record of electrical performance. Confirm the actual model and disclosed condition before ordering.

  • Product family and complete part number
  • Required package and capacity
  • Target board, application and relevant configuration
  • Required operating conditions, based on the selected part
  • Expected purchase quantity
  • Any condition or substitution restrictions

Request samples with enough context

Sample quantities are determined according to the price of the requested product, with shipping included. Contact Yuyue to confirm the sample arrangement for your selected product and delivery destination. Shipping included does not mean the sample goods are free or that customs duties and clearance charges are included. Confirm sample value and destination arrangements before proceeding.

Describe the decision you want the evaluation to support. For example, state whether you are reviewing a replacement part, a board assembly requirement or a proposed source for a particular platform. A specific brief helps keep the sample discussion aligned with the intended order.

Submitting a request does not confirm stock or immediate dispatch. Confirm the proposed model and condition as part of the sample arrangements.

Keep a traceable sample-evaluation record

Give each evaluated sample a reference and retain the identity and condition information supplied with it. Record your target platform and the conditions used during evaluation. Separate observed results from assumptions about a future shipment.

This is a suggested buyer record, not a claim that every supplier provides a particular report format. Ask which batch-specific test records can be provided for your requirement.

  • Sample reference and part-number information
  • Visible markings and relevant photographs
  • Disclosed original-marked used or refurbished/re-marked condition
  • Board, firmware or software configuration used
  • Checks performed and their operating conditions
  • Observed results, exceptions and unresolved questions
  • The purchasing decision supported by those results

Ask different questions for different memory families

For DRAM DDR2–DDR5, confirm the generation, exact model, package, capacity and data width. Review the speed, timing and operating requirements relevant to your platform. DDR2 requires its own model-specific program; DDR3–DDR5 parameters should not be treated as DDR2 acceptance criteria.

LPDDR4 needs a separate model-specific review. Micron MT53E512M32D1ZW-046 IT:B lists an operating range of −40°C to 95°C, while the WT:B entry lists −25°C to 85°C. Retain the complete suffix and compare the required operating conditions; similar base markings do not establish substitution. These manufacturer-listed ranges are not measurements of the offered stock, and linked quantities remain dated snapshots. DDR2–DDR5 category-level test or defect-rate commitments do not automatically apply to LPDDR4.

For eMMC, identify the exact model, host interface and any relevant boot or partition requirements. Define which functions matter to the application. Do not treat an arrival-inspection result as evidence of remaining program/erase life or long-term data retention.

For SPI Flash, distinguish SPI NOR from SPI NAND before reviewing a substitute or test plan. Agree the applicable read, program, erase and interface requirements for the selected model. NAND-specific block-handling checks do not establish NOR qualification, and eMMC-specific partition checks are not SPI Flash requirements.

The detailed scope follows the device and agreed order requirements. Avoid a generic checklist that implies every device has the same functions or has undergone every possible test. Consult the exact device’s official documentation rather than transferring a feature or requirement from another family.

Turn sample findings into a clear order record

A sample result and a bulk-order agreement serve different purposes. Passing an application check on a small sample does not establish the defect rate of a future shipment or guarantee compatibility under every condition.

Before proceeding, confirm the ordered part number, quantity, supplied condition and applicable test scope. Record unresolved differences between the evaluated samples and the proposed order. Ask whether relevant batch records are available and what they cover; do not assume the sample and every later lot have identical history.

  • Exact ordered model and any agreed substitutions
  • Original-marked used or refurbished/re-marked condition
  • Required package, capacity and application conditions
  • Agreed testing and arrival-inspection criteria
  • Available shipment or batch evidence and its scope
  • How exceptions and confirmed defective chips will be reviewed

Interpret arrival-quality commitments correctly

MemorySemiTech’s published customer arrival-inspection commitments are a defective-chip ceiling of 0.1% for DRAM DDR2–DDR5, a defective-chip rate below 0.5% for eMMC, and a defective-chip rate below 0.5% for SPI NOR and SPI NAND.

These are commercial commitments for customer goods-receipt inspection, not measured historical statistics. They are not bit-error rates, remaining-endurance measurements or lifetime failure guarantees. The inspection method and acceptance criteria are confirmed for the ordered part.

Do not calculate or claim compliance with those shipment-level commitments from a small application-evaluation sample. Sampling inspections take place both before shipment and during customer incoming acceptance, with the applicable plans and criteria confirmed separately. Use application samples to review fit rather than to claim a shipment defect rate.

  • DRAM DDR2–DDR5: ≤0.1% defective chips at customer arrival inspection
  • eMMC: <0.5% defective chips at customer arrival inspection
  • SPI NOR and SPI NAND: <0.5% defective chips at customer arrival inspection

Keep after-sales terms separate from qualification evidence

Yuyue provides three-year after-sales support starting from the customer's acceptance date. For after-sales assistance, contact us through the email or WhatsApp listed on this website. Confirmed defective chips receive replacement or replenishment support. Original-marked used and refurbished, re-marked chips receive the same support with their actual condition disclosed.

That support is not a substitute for defining the correct part, supply condition and application requirements before purchase. Keep the order details and relevant observations available when discussing an after-sales request. Contact the team to review the issue and confirm arrangements.

Do not infer refund terms, shipping-cost allocation, response deadlines or a guaranteed remaining operating life from the published support statement.

FAQ

Common questions

Does a passing sample guarantee the whole shipment?

No. Sample evaluation supports a defined application decision. It does not establish the defect rate of a future lot or replace the agreed arrival-inspection criteria.

What information is needed to request samples?

Provide the selected product, exact part number, intended application, expected purchase quantity and delivery country or region.

Are the same tests appropriate for DRAM, eMMC and SPI Flash?

No. The scope follows the exact device and order requirements. SPI NOR and SPI NAND must also be distinguished; a check applicable to one family is not proof of qualification for another.

Do original-marked and refurbished chips receive different support?

Yuyue provides three-year after-sales support starting from the customer's acceptance date. For after-sales assistance, contact us through the email or WhatsApp listed on this website. Confirmed defective chips receive replacement or replenishment support. Original-marked used and refurbished, re-marked chips receive the same support with their actual condition disclosed.

These manufacturer references are starting points for model-specific documentation, not evidence of MemorySemiTech stock, manufacturer authorization or a particular used-chip test result. A device-health note for one model is not a remaining-life guarantee for every eMMC.
